WEEKLY NEWS: All practices will be held this week as normal. Yes this includes Saturday which is Halloween and I expect you all there from 6:30 to 8:00 AM. The way some of you look
that early it won't take long to dress up in the evening.GOAL SHEETS: Everyone in our 3 Villages should now have their goal sheets, and I have gotten some of them back. I would like them all turned in by the end of the week, so that I can go through them next weekend before these meets start taking place. You need to turn them in or suffer the consequences from me
.
. LAST WEEK WRAP: We did a great job last week with the things I wanted to get done. A lot of work was done with our underwater work off the walls and most of you were great during those sets. We also worked a lot on how to swim some of our races, and to quickly review, no matter what event it is we need to attack it from that first stroke. The distance of the event and the stroke will determine just how fast to go, but don,t fall into the trap
of going out to slow from the start as it will set up a very slow pace that you will not be able to overcome. Don't be afraid to let your body hurt a little. Embrace that pain
it's the GOOD KIND of pain.

Last week we talked about the start; remember REACTION==POWER==ENTRY==, but what happens now? It is very important that we carry the momentum off the dive and every push off every wall INTO our race, and that is done with your BREAKOUT STROKE. That first stroke that you take is one of the most important ones in your race, as it will get you up to the surface clean. This stroke cannot be a WEAK one as it will set you up for a bad swim. A weak stroke might happen if you are breathing on that stroke which will slow your momentum. WAIT till you start that second stroke to get your air! For most of you that breakout stroke should occur at the flags or further, which means we should always be in a tight streamline (ARMS TIGHT AGAINST YOUR HEAD, CHIN TUCKED, TOES POINTED), from the walls to the flags. There should be NO SWIMMING in this zone! I challenge each of you to really work on this part of your race on EVERY set and EVERY repeat, especially when you become tired. You will then be able to carry it into your races which will become a BIG ADVANTAGE! I have seen a lot of good swimmers get beat by other swimmers because of weak walls. Will you accept this challenge or just have the same lazy walls. IT'S UP TO YOU, I CAN'T SWIM YOUR RACES FOR YOU!
SICK BAY: I have gotten a lot of notes about swimmers in our group getting sick. With the change in the weather please don't forget to dress properly (SWEATS WOULD BE NICE), keep hydrating your bodies (yes even when it's cold), don't share water bottles, wash those hands as often as you can. Make sure you are getting the proper amount of sleep, and yes that may mean you need to miss some social outings! Let's not get behind in our school work, which will cause us to miss practice and than things will go down hill from there. Victoria will be ge ting her cat off her arm this week so no more blue tooth. Did anyone see Rachel Ward on the
on Thursday, she smacked her face with both knees and now has 2 black eyes. I hear the teacher asked her to remove her sun glasses
on Friday, saw her eyes, and was told to put them back on!

After you go TRICK OR TREATING on Saturday night don't forget to turn your clocks back, you get that extra hour of sleep. Have fun on Saturday Night and stay safe!
