WEEKLY NEWS: All practices will be held this week as normal. Yes this includes Saturday which is Halloween from 6:30 to 8:00. The way some of you look

early in the morning it won't take long to dress up in the evening.
GOAL SHEETS Everyone in our 3 Villages should now have their goal sheets. I have gotten some back and I want them back sometime this week, so that I can go through them next weekend before these meets start taking place You need to turn them in or suffer the consequences from me.
LAST WEEK WRAP: We did a great job last week with the things I wanted to get done. A lot of work was done with our underwater work off the walls and you all were great during those sets. We also worked a lot on how to swim some of our races, Just a quick review, no matter the
event we need to get out hard and the distance and the stroke will determines how fast. However do not fall into the trap of going too slow as this will set a slow pace no matter what you do in that last 25. Don't be afraid to let your body hurt a little. Embrace that pain
, it's the GOOD KIND!
WEEKLY TOPIC: THE BREAKOUT
Last we we talked about the start; remember REACTION==POWER==ENTRY==, but what happens now. It is very important that we carry the momentum off the dive and every push off from the wall INTO our race, and that is done with your BREAKOUT STROKE. That first stoke that you take is one of the most important ones in your race, as it will get you up to the surface clean. This stroke cannot be a WEAK one as it will set you up for a bad swim. A weak stroke might happen if you are breathing on that stroke which will also slow your momentum. WAIT till you start that second stroke to get your air. For most of you our breakout stroke should occur at the flags or further, which means we should always be in a tight streamline (CHIN TUCKED TOES POINTED, ARMS TIGHT AGAINST HEAD), , FROM THE WALLS TO THE FLAGS, no swimming IN THIS ZONE. I challenge all of you to really work on this part of your race on EVERY set and EVERY repeat, especially when you become tired. You will then be able to carry it into your races which will become a big advantage. I have seen a lot of good swimmers get beat by other swimmers because of the walls. Will you accept this challenge or just have the same LAZY walls! IT'S UP TO YOU, i CAN'T SWIM YOUR RACES!
Did anyone other than us see Rachel Ward on Thursday after going off the board and smacking her face with both her knees. I hear through the grape vine that she had to wear
sun glasses at school on Friday, Hope you feel better
Rachel.
HAVE A GOOD WEEK AT SCHOOL, HYDRATE YOURSELF, WASH THOSE HANDS A LOT, AND STAY HEALTHY, SEE YOU ON THE DECK
Have fun and be safe on Saturday night!
