MARCH 6TH UPDATE
WEEKLY UPDATE: Due to Senior Champs this weekend at GMU, we will not have practice on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.
UPCOMING MEET: The March Championship meet is the weekend of March 24th and 25th at GMU. If you swam less than 3 events at JO's you may enter this meet, however you may not swim the events you swam at JO's. If you swam 4 or more events at JO's I do not want you to enter this meet (this excludes relays at JO's). You may enter the 500 free regardless of JO's. Let's give our teammates a chance in the spotlight.
JUNIOR OLYMPICS WRAP UP: I know this was a long weekend and meet for all of you, but I am proud of ALL OF YOU! A lot of us gained some valuable experiences, and learned a thing or two about ourselves, such as fueling our bodies, the need to relax, taking races out fast without the fear of dying, saving our legs for that final kick in the race. I will attempt to wrap up the weekend now and if I miss someone or something, I'm sorry.
We had a lot of teammates come out and support our 2 500 free swimmers, both of whom posted their best times. Maggie was first off the blocks, and John was second, both of these swimmers had great splits throughout the race. Maggie especially showed a lot of
swimming this distance after being sick most of the week.
After fighting the traffic to get over the bridge, and the rain storm
we arrived for our early warm-up and our first relay of the meet, which produced some good splits!200 BACK: Zoe and Katie Y. started the day off by posting best times in this event, with Zoe posting a faster time at finals in the evening.
