WEEKLY UPDATE: Don't forget the pool is closed this weekend for the Tom Dolan meet, so we will not have practice on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. This week is also the start of session 2, and we will be having a few swimmers joining our little village, so let's make them feel welcome. This week practices are geared to all our teammates who are swimming this weekend, so bear with me as we put our fellow villagers in a position to RACE this weekend. Take a second this week and say something positive to one of your teammates swimming this weekend. Many of you have been chosen for relays this weekend, and I expect you to be there. Check with me about the relays if your not sure.

BLIZZARD MEET WRAP-UP: Thank you to all the parents who helped out over this past weekend so that this meet could run as smooth as it did. From all the swimmers from the village
.
As for the swimmers all of you were awesome
! Looking over the results our little village was over 85% personal bests, with a lot of JO cuts achieved! A
Was turned in by Kyle Cumo who won High Point in the 9-10 girls. Swimmers who made it back to finals were Maggie S.
, Sarah G.
, Katie Y.
, Lauren Y.
, Katie S., Emily D., Myles O.
, William Z.
, Gillian C.
, Claire E.
, Melissa C.
, Winning their events were William Z., and Sarah G. winning the fly all the way from lane 8!!
Some notes I wrote down that we will get back to after this week; air is essential for life not a 50 free. We work on 2 down three back or 2/2. Someone needs to explain to me how you swim a 50 free under 30 seconds and still have time to take 11 breaths
.
That was a big one. The next big one is that we still look at the walls as an obstacle instead of a way to gain speed. Don't forget the walls are a positive not a negative, and in a close race the swimmer with the better turn usually wins. A few of us showed up to swim and not race and there is a big difference. Head position in breaststroke and we need to find our corners! Starts were better but lets see if we can get more
off the blocks. Very nice to see that we are being more patient off the walls, and WHY? Because we travel faster under the H2O!!! Overall it was a nice way to finish off the first part of the season, BUT we have work to be done!
TOPIC FOR THE WEEK: "DO YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF"
Have a great week and GOOD LUCK TO ALL OUR FRIENDS swimming this weekend!! MIKE
